2012 Audi RS6 Sports Sedan Rendered by Photoshop Buff

Talk about a lightning fast response. It's been less than 24 hours since Audi pulled the veils off the fourth-generation A6 premium sedan, and yet we already have a photoshop rendering of the future RS6 created by an artist from EDL. Granted, the production model would most likely sport blistered wheel arches while it wouldn't sit so close to the ground, but the 'chop gives us an idea of what an RS version of the new A6 would look like.

Rendering aside, we're still in the dark about the details surrounding the next generation RS6. Despite some rumors of Audi opting for a force-fed V8 engine, we wouldn't dismiss the possibility of the German firm using an upgraded version of the 5.2-litre V10 engine mated to a new seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. In any case, expect the horsepower-war between German luxury carmakers to continue with Audi's proposal moving closer to the 600hp mark.

New Audi RS6 Plus Sport and Plus Exclusive Specials, Limited to 500 Units

Two new special packages have been added to the list of options for buyers of the 580HP V10-powered Audi RS6. Limited to 500 pieces, the RS 6 plus Sport and RS 6 plus Audi exclusive equipment packages add a carbon-fiber trim kit for the engine compartment, 20-inch wheels with a five-spoke design, the sports suspension plus system and a numbered plaque in the interior.

In addition, the 'Plus Sport' enhances the RS's cabin with leather trim for the instrument-panel hood and center console, and unique RS6-badged front floor mats.

Those that opt for the 'Plus Exclusive' also get the chance to specify a custom paint job for the exterior as well to choose the color for the leather that covers the seat upholstery, door trim inserts, front center armrest, and the armrests in the door trims.

Other than that, the two special edition RS6s models are no different than their standard sibling that's powered by a 5.0-liter twin-turbocharged V10 with direct-injection that produces 580HP and 650 Nm (479.42 lb-ft) of torque propelling the sedan from 0 to 100 km/h (62mph) in 4.5 seconds and on to a top speed of 303 km/h or 188 mph.

Pricing for the 'Plus Sport' and 'Plus Exclusive' equipment packages are set at €3,250 and €8,130 respectively, with Audi claiming that buyers save about 50 percent compared to purchasing the items individually.

*Photos are of the standard model as Audi has yet to release images of the RS6 with the special equipment packages

MFK Boosts Previous Generation Audi RS6 to 520HP with new Tuning Package

The first Audi RS6 may have long been replaced by a newer generation model, but tuners in Europe are still offering performance packages for both the sedan and Avant variants of the German sports car. MFK's tuning package for the RS6 includes an engine kit with a new exhaust system and a reprogrammed ECU that help increase the 4.2-liter turbocharged V8's output by 70HP, from 450HP to 520 horsepower.

The engine upgrades are complemented by the modified air-inlets on the front bumper and a set of 20-inch alloy wheels in a black finish with silver rims that are wrapped in high-performance sport tires from Dunlop size 285/25 R20.

AVUS Issues Press Release on Audi RS6 'White Power' Name, Blames Translator

Dang the power of online media... Just hours after the release of AVUS Performance's modified Audi RS6 Avant that stirred a huge online controversy over its name "White Power" (see what was said on Carscoop here), as many people interpreted it as a racial slur, the German company issued an official statement apologizing to those that were offended. The tuning firm said that it was a matter of mistranslation from German to English blaming its press agency. AVUS also said that the car will be renamed simply to Audi RS6 V10 biturbo.

Our opinion? This whole matter brings to mind the Southpark episode "Chef Goes Nanners". In a nutshell, all the adults were in a racial fight over South Park's flag that depicted white figures hanging a black one on a scaffold, so they asked the opinion of the boys who debated the topic at school.

And while everyone thought that the boys were divided over the racial subject, in the end it is revealed that the boys hadn't even noticed the color of the figures shown on the flag. The whole time they thought that the issue at hand was capital punishment...

AVUS PERFORMANCE STATEMENT

Dear visitors, readers and customers,

We are very sorry and unfortunate for what has actually happened and is currently happening to our first press report. Due to a mistranslation of our latest project car - the Audi RS6 V10 biturbo - there were lots of radical right-wing rumors on all different blogs and pages that received our first press report. We distance ourselves from the project title - it was done by our press agency which obviously mistranslated our German project name into English. Furthermore we distance ourselves from anything that has to do with that group synonym and we would also like to say sorry if anyone got personally touched.

Deepest Regards

The AVUS PERFORMANCE Team

Audi RS6 Avant 'White Power' with 700HP and 211mph by AVUS Performance

The new Audi RS6 Avant by AVUS Performance may not look as aggressive as other tuning proposals, but it sure packs a mighty punch under the bonnet. Not that the standard RS6 with its 580HP and 650Nm ( 479.35 lb/ft) V10 actually needs more power, but the Berlin-based tuner believes that there's space for improvement. That translates to a new high performance exhaust system with a diameter of 70mm (2.7''), racing catalysts and a new ECU software resulting to an output of 700HP and 800Nm or 589.97 lb/ft of torque.

Audi RS6 bAvant Avus - Carscoop With these upgrades the Audi RS6 White Power sprints from zero to 100km/h (62mph) in a blistering 3,9 seconds, to 200km/h (124mph) in 12.1 seconds and on to an electronically limited top speed of 340km/h or 211.27mph. The 'standard' RS6 Avant accelerates from 0 to 100km/h in 4.6 seconds and reaches an electronically limited maximum speed of 250km/h or 155mph.

Additional modifications include a new set of springs that lower the car by 40mm or 1.6'', massive 22-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels and carbon fiber front lip spoiler and rear diffuser.

O.CT Tuning Audi R8 and Audi RS6 Avant

Audi RS6 and R8 O.CT TuningAustrian tuning firm ‘O.CT’ has set its eyes this time on Audi’s range-topping sports cars, the R8 and the RS6 Avant. Starting off with the R8, O.CT has developed a custom made sport-exhaust system that helps the 4.2-liter V8 engine gain an extra 26 HP and 20 Nm of torque thus raising total output to 446 HP and maximum torque to 450 Nm.

Although there are no other modifications, the O.CT prepped R8 manages to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62mph) in 5.3 sec and to 250 km/h (155mph) in 31 sec outpacing the standard R8 by 0.3 and 3 sec respectively. Top speed is also up by 9 km/h to 310 km/h or 193mph. -Continued

Audi RS6 and R8 O.CT TuningLike so many other tuners, O.CT believes that the RS6’s 580 HP 5.0-liter V10 engine could use a few extra ponies. That’s why the Austrian tuning firm developed a new engine control unit (ECU) and a custom made sport exhaust system for the RS6 raises total output by 70 HP to 650 HP and maximum torque by 100 Nm to 750 Nm.

With this sport kit the O.CT RS6 Avant sprints from 0 to 100km/h (62mph) in 4.9 sec and to 250 km/h (155mph) in 23.9 sec undercutting the standard RS6 Avant by 0.5 and 3.3 sec respectively. As for top speed, O.CT offers buyers the option to choose between two settings, one that allows the RS6 Avant to go up to 300 km/h or 187mph or all the way up to 325 km/h or 202mph.
